Andhra Pradesh has the land, resources, and business-friendly climate required to attract foreign investment, according to Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath, who also stated that the Government is willing to offer the incentives required for the growth of the technical textiles industry in the State.
As the chief guest at a one-day conference held in conjunction with the National Technical Textiles Mission in Vijaywada, Amarnath stated that in order to realise India’s potential as a global investment destination, the Central Government should be more accommodating when it comes to luring foreign investments and implement certain modifications to the EXIM policy.
He said that in order to boost the state’s industrial sector, the Andhra Pradesh Government was approving projects through a single window system, something no other State in the nation has been able to do. He also claimed that the state had an abundance of land with good connections for the construction of industrial units.
K. Sunitha, Andhra Pradesh Government Principal Secretary (Handlooms and Textiles), stated that there was a great deal of potential for the development of agro-textiles in the state and that there were tried-and-true methods to boost crop yields, cut water usage by up to 45 per cent, and reduce fertiliser use by at least 25 per cent.
