In an effort to promote circularity, growth, and innovation in the UK fashion and textile sector, the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) has announced the launch of the Reuse and Recycling membership category. This new membership category is intended for textile collectors, sorters, graders, mechanical recyclers, upcyclers, and recycling innovators. This new category seeks to assist companies in the textile recycling and reuse industry by offering advocacy, strategic advice, and specialised resources to advance circular fashion solutions.
A solid basis for promoting circularity in the UK fashion and textile industries has been established by UKFT’s collaboration with ACT UK (Automatic-sorting for Circularity in Textiles) and CFIN (Circular Fashion Innovation Network).
Through these initiatives, UKFT has established a wide-ranging network of interested parties dedicated to encouraging creativity in material reuse and rethinking waste. In an effort to encourage further cooperation between business leaders, legislators, and sustainability advocates, UKFT also just announced a new relationship with the Textiles Recycling Expo.
Adam Mansell, CEO of UKFT, stated that the organization’s dedication to environmental responsibility and business growth for the whole fashion and textile supply chain in the UK is being strengthened by extending membership to the reuse and recycling industry. The goal of this new category is to give participants the resources, know-how, and connections they need to succeed in a changing market, he added.
