To promote industrial investment and development at the forthcoming PM MITRA Park in Dhar district, the Madhya Pradesh Textile Mills Association has urged the government to integrate renewable energy sources into the park’s framework and make it a zero waste generation hub.
Establishing a green space in PM MITRA Park might be essential to drawing in foreign investment, the association emphasised. In a memorandum to Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh, they suggested establishing a single window method to expedite the investment process for companies wishing to establish in the park.
A single point of contact for all clearances is necessary, according to the association, which supports the park’s designation as a green zone. This will free up investors to focus on their main business without having to deal with bureaucratic obstacles.
“The Government should implement a new Production Linked Incentive Scheme with a lower investment threshold and broader product coverage to encourage the production of cotton garments and their exports,” said association chairman Shreyaskar Chaudhary, adding that basic amenities are considered necessary for the area around the park to create a favourable atmosphere for investors and their staff. These amenities include residential neighbourhoods, shopping centres, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and recreational spaces.
The association also recommended a plug-and-play strategy together with on-site infrastructure, talent development, and dorm facilities to support the textile industry and attract small-scale investors. The technology upgrade program, which had been in place since 1998 with several modifications, ended in March 2022, according to industries. The textile industry’s modernisation and technical advancement were stalled since the previous scheme ended on 31st March 2022, so it is imperative that the new scheme be announced as soon as possible.
