The LNJ Bhilwara Group’s flagship business, RSWM Limited, has been recognised with the Silver Award in the “Sustainable Fashion and Textile” category of the Green Sarathi Awards. With an emphasis on minimising environmental effect and promoting sustainable innovation, RSWM’s initiative, “Redefining Sustainability – Mapping Initiatives for a Greener Tomorrow,” is highlighted by this recognition.
The business has a well-established infrastructure that includes a 32 MW internal solar plant, a 20 MW wind power unit, and an extra 40 MW of wind power capacity.
The company is on track to integrate 75 per cent biofuel into its operations by 2025, having already reduced its carbon emissions by 800,000 metric tonnes annually. RSWM has converted three of its six coal-fired boilers to run on biofuel with an investment of US $ 4.11 million.
By emphasising organic cotton, recycled cotton, and recycled polyester as its primary raw materials for manufacturing, RSWM has improved its sustainability initiatives.
Because organic cotton encourages sustainable farming methods and uses fewer toxic pesticides, it provides a natural, environmentally favourable substitute. The 8,162 MT of recovered cotton utilised annually comes from pre- and post-consumer trash. Furthermore, RSWM produces recycled polyester from 1,830 PET bottles every year, which currently makes about 50 per cent of its total polyester output.
Fibre waste is recycled and reincorporated into the manufacturing cycle both before and after production.
The company recycles all of the waste water produced during manufacturing by strictly adhering to a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) policy. This water is then safely used for operations or turned into potable water for nearby communities. These initiatives are complemented by sophisticated rainwater harvesting methods, which provide sustainable water management for all installations.
The use of organic manure is likewise highly valued by RSWM. The orchards and greens in all the plants are flourished by the usage of the organic waste produced. Certain RSWM-affiliated agricultural plots only use organic manure. Certifications like GOTS, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Global Recycled Standard, and ISO 14001:2015 further confirm RSWM’s sustainability initiatives.
The Financial Express Green Sarathi Awards recognise and honour outstanding achievements in sustainability and ESG endeavours.
