
Shiny Bhanoo, a student of Fashion Design Department NIFT, Kangra, has been selected to represent India in the World Skill Competition (WSC), Germany. Students from 23 institutes took part in the India level two round competitions based on pattern making and garment construction. NIFT D-G Prem Kumar Gera has been taking interest in promoting students for such events.
N.A Khan, Asst. Professor, NIFT, Delhi and project coordinator of national skill competition informed Apparel Online that a sketch and measurement was given to the all students and on the base of that sketch, student have to prepare exact fit garment. Now Shiny will be given six months exclusive training so that she can perform well at the international level competition to be held in July 2013.
Shiny is the first student of NIFT, Kangra selected for any international competition. She also got the cash reward of Rs. 10,000.
