Lectra, a French fashion technology solutions provider, has launched the “Lectra Observatory” to serve as an informative hub for industry players, focusing on technological advancements and transformations in the fashion, furniture, and automotive sectors. Their inaugural white paper, The Rise of Industry 4.0 Boosts Manufacturing Efficiency, reflects extensive collaboration and discussions with industry experts over several months.
This Observatory seeks to foster collective reflection among these industries, facilitating adaptation to emerging opportunities. Its approach emphasises a comprehensive, internationally inclusive perspective, engaging external experts to contribute insights.
Maria Modroño, Lectra’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, underscored their commitment to supporting customers’ digital evolution in an era of rapid technological innovation and the integration of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into business strategies. Modroño highlighted the necessity of identifying, deciphering, and, if possible, anticipating current and forthcoming changes.
The white paper draws on perspectives from leading companies like Porsche Consulting, Tesca, Leisure Creations, and Valerius Texteis, shedding light on the impacts of Industry 4.0 within their respective sectors.
Furthermore, alongside industry practitioners, the paper incorporates insights from European and American experts, including Dorothée Kohler and Jean-Daniel Weisz from Kohler Consulting & Coaching in France, Marco Taisch, a Professor at Politecnico di Milano’s School of Management, and Jake Hall, the mind behind the video podcast “The Manufacturing Millennial.”
Regarding the Observatory’s inaugural publication, Modroño emphasised its overview of global Industry 4.0 adoption, highlighting its potential to unite stakeholders across the product value chain. She also acknowledged the challenges that companies still face in optimizing opportunities brought about by the fourth industrial revolution.
