American designer Todd Snyder is stepping into the role of creative director for Woolrich’s new Black Label line.
Officially dubbed Woolrich Black Label by Todd Snyder, it will have two collections, Heritage and Technical. A teaser of the collections will be unveiled at Pitti Uomo in January. The heritage will be dedicated to Woolrich’s designs, while Technical will focus on high-performance materials that cater to the outdoors.
The transition also sees Woolrich’s current creative director, Andrea Cané, assuming a role as a creative advisor in preparation for retirement. In an interview with WWD, Saccone acknowledged Cané for breathing a new life into Woolrich and expressed confidence in Snyder’s ability to propel the brand forward.
He spoke about Woolrich’s plans to “reconquer the American market” over the next three to five years and added, “Beyond Todd’s skills and design aesthetic, what is implicit in this relationship is to increase the brand relevance in the US and North America. And we’re quite convinced Todd is the right person to do that.”
The Black Label is slated for a global launch in autumn 2024, encompassing 75 styles distributed across Europe, Japan, and the US, as stated to WWD.
