Russian fashion brand, Melon Fashion Group, has opted for Netherlands-based ‘Orange Business Services’ for a virtual fitting room solution that will use immersive video conferencing, to link designers with the manufacturing staff. According to company officials, this step is a part of Group’s strategy of adopting cloud services, which will help it optimize operating processes and achieve cost savings.
Alexey Morozov, CIO, Melon Fashion Group, commented, “The virtual fitting room service based on Open Video Presence has enabled us to optimize our designers’ work and speed up the preparation of new products for mass production.” With the incorporation of this system, designers for the Group’s three brands: Zarina, Love Republic and Befree, will be able to easily collaborate with manufacturing teams all along the design and production process of apparels.
Explaining the need of this technology, the fashion brand reports that it was running behind from its production schedule as it had to ship specimens from the factory – which is located in China, back to the designers – who sit in the head office in Russia, for each internal product quality evaluation.
