In its second year of operations in Bangladesh, Hari Chand Anand & Company (HCA) was participating for the first time at the Garmentech Fair, with a wide showcase of machines from Zoje, Atlanta Attachments, AMF Reece, Merrow and its in-house brand Duke. Representing the 100 years old company at the fair, Anil Anand, Managing Director, HCA was very upbeat of the opportunities in Bangladesh. “The most impressive is the commitment and dedication of the apparel manufactures of the country towards the business and the day-to-day decision making processes, which solves half of our problem as a technology supplier,” he said.
Always known for given industry suitable automation, HCA ventured into Bangladesh with the vision of catering to the now automation hungry apparel manufacturers. “With the recent wage rise, there is a lot of pressure on the people to increase per person productivity, which creates a pool gap for not only machines and technologies, but also the knowledge required for improving the operating systems,” believes Anil Anand, who urges the industry to reduce manpower not only on the shop floor but from each and every non-value added activity in their manufacturing facility. “Selling basic machines is now a commodity business, so our focus would be majorly on automated solutions with automat the processes of making a garment, keeping its flexiblity intact because we are not making uniforms,” concludes Anil Anand.
Seeing limitless potential in the country, HCA would be opening its office and showcase shortly in Bangladesh employing local manpower.
