
The TikTok Shop has introduced a new initiative called Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT) in the United Kingdom, aiming to simplify the selling process for merchants on the platform. Through this program, TikTok Shop takes on the responsibility of handling various aspects of logistics, including storing, selecting, packing, and delivering products on behalf of the merchants to the TikTok community. This initiative is strategically designed to relieve merchants from the burdensome logistics tasks they would typically have to manage.
Under the FBT scheme, orders placed by 7 p.m. from Monday to Saturday are processed with automated fulfillment, ensuring same-day dispatch. Additionally, there is an option to choose a premium delivery service that guarantees next working day delivery.
TikTok Shop imposes charges for services such as warehousing, shipping, and extra value-added offerings like labeling, pre-packing, and the inclusion of promotional materials.
The smaller independent business has witnessed a 30 per cent increase in sales volume, a 36 per cent reduction in shipping lead times, and a remarkable decline of over 45 per cent in late dispatch rates.
