Robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) will be used by sportswear giant On and tech company Verity to revolutionise warehousing operations.
In accordance with the arrangement, the brand deploys completely autonomous drones in its warehouses to minimise shrinkage, stockouts, and misplacements throughout its supply chain, and to offer complete operational visibility through intelligent, real-time inventory management.
The sportswear brand, which debuted its second location in the UK last year, claimed that doing this guaranteed perfect order fulfilment for both its online and retail stores.
Furthermore, it stated that the partnership would result in more precise and on-time delivery as well as improved product availability throughout On’s shops and online.
Verity’s drones scan On goods every day in the retailer’s US factory, where the technology is already operational and ensures that there is enough stock available for customer fulfilment.
It stated that this was reducing CO2 emissions associated with its warehouses and was boosting its key performance parameters.
On co-founder and executive co-chairman Caspar Coppetti said, “Verity is a pioneering brand in the field of AI and robotics, and a perfect fit with On’s values of harnessing innovation for the benefit of the customer experience. By leveraging innovative technological solutions, we aim to improve our operations’ efficiency further, become a more sustainable brand, and take customer satisfaction to new heights.”
