
In honour of the summer of sports, Selfridges and Snapchat have collaborated on a new augmented reality (AR) locker room pop-up at the retailer’s Oxford Street headquarters in London. The entire store is themed “Sportopia.”
Customers may digitally try on their favourite sports apparel, engage with their favourite sports companies, and play with cutting-edge technology, such as AR mirror experiences and AR lenses, during the event, which is scheduled to run through July and August. Even a custom Team Selfridges Sportopia football uniform is visible to them.
Shoppers using the AR mirror will gain access to a one-time QR code where they can save their favourite looks to their devices – and share with their friends and family on Snapchat.
Laura Weir, Chief Creative at Selfridges, said: “We’re really excited about having Snapchat as part of Sportopia at Selfridges London, giving visitors creative ways to engage with product and experience. We’re looking forward to welcoming fans to have fun in our Snapchat locker room.”
