Desigual, a Spanish retailer, has revealed its first-ever on-demand collection, featuring items created by its creative team and using artificial intelligence (AI).
Desigual stated that it is trying to explore new methods of communicating with customers and react to market developments in a way that is more aligned with their beliefs through the on-demand model, which is noticeably rarely employed by such large-scale global brands.
The capsule collection, which includes both clothing and accessories, is available for purchase on the company’s website, with production taking about 90 days. Before their item is dispatched, buyers who have already made a purchase will receive information on the production process.
The function will only be available in Spain, Germany, France, and Italy for the time being and will not be present in actual stores due to client demand.
The company stated that it does have future plans to expand the project to new markets. Thomas Meyer, the company’s founder, claimed in a release that the collection was the outcome of ongoing transversal innovation.
Meyer added, “We are very excited to test these designs made by our team and supported by artificial intelligence.”
