Danish fashion brand Bestseller has partnered with global materials science company, Avery Dennison to implement Case Verification technology, integrating Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) into its distribution centers. The aim is to enhance inventory and shipping precision for millions of items annually. Avery Dennison’s Case Verification system is instrumental for fashion brands to achieve shipping accuracy within the supply chain by utilising precise RFID readpoints and streamlined workflows for managing exceptions.
This technology swiftly identifies the contents of incoming and outgoing shipments through RFID, comparing them with the expected quantities to detect any discrepancies effectively. By promptly addressing them, Case Verification enhances shipment accuracy, reduces friction in the supply chain, and minimises potential claims.
Michael Kaufmann, Senior Director of Logistics at Avery Dennison’s Identification Solutions, highlighted the significant advantages that RFID technology has brought to the apparel industry, particularly in brick-and-mortar stores, by enhancing product availability and elevating the overall consumer experience. The implementation of Case Verification represents a strategic progression in leveraging RFID consistently throughout the supply chain to optimise accuracy and product availability, ultimately laying a crucial foundation for a streamlined and digitalised supply chain.
Casper Overhaven Harboe from Bestseller emphasised the transformative impact of RFID integration across their supplier network, heralding it as an initiative that will automate shipment verification processes in distribution centers and factories.
