
Switzerland-based manufacturer of analytical instruments and on-line monitoring systems for the textile industry, Uster Technologies has said in its press release that Thomas Nasiou, who has extensive experience in the textile industry, will take over the position as CEO of the company, effective April 1. This follows a planned transition and handover of responsibilities from Dr. Geoffrey Scott who will remain as a member of the Board of Directors.

Thrilled about his new role in the company, Thomas Nasiou said, “Learning is important for me. That means learning from the customers, our collaborators and our colleagues. Nasiou joined Uster in 2006 as a Textile Technologist. In the year 2011, he was promoted to Head of Textile Technology and also became a member of the Uster’s Executive Board. In 2014, he became member of the Spinners’ Committee of the International Textile Machinery Federation. “This background makes him uniquely qualified to take the next step as CEO. Thomas Nasiou’s deep textile expertise, knowledge and commitment to USTER and its long term strategy will ensure continuity and stability of the Uster business,” averred Dr. Scott.

Furthermore, the company has appointed Koichi Ito as the new Head of the Textile Machinery Division of Toyota Industries Corporation, succeeding Susumu Toyoda who has been promoted to a new position in Toyota Motor Corporation. “The Board of Directors of Uster Technologies and Toyota Industries Corporation are pleased that, with the new management organization, the long term continuity and success of Uster Technologies is secured.
