Technology fairs are invariably a drum roll to what the industry is going to witness next, as both the technology manufacturers and garment manufacturers explore the present options while also seeking indications of where the industry focus is moving. Testing waters on the US shore at the recently concluded Texprocess Americas 2014, Macpi was happy to see that bonding technology attracted a lot of attention. Having made a mark in the global market for their pressing, finishing and cutting solutions, the Italian-origin company presented its line of bonding solutions at the event. The bonding machines continued to generate interest having already been a point of curiosity and business in the South-East Asian market with manufacturers such as Luthai Textiles making the most of the early stitchless garment buzz.
As many western countries including the US seriously consider re-shoring of business, machine manufacturers are realigning their strategies for an expanded reach to the worldwide market. Recognizing the shift, Macpi took Texprocess as an opportunity to study the emerging market in detail, “We are only looking at the opportunities as of now,” informs Mirella Sardini, Executive Managing Director, Macpi Group.
In the meanwhile, finishing and pressing equipments from Macpi and its IMA spreader and cutters are reaping benefits of investments made in the conventional garment manufacturing hubs of Asia. With slowdown in China, and the buyer focus shifting to Bangladesh, Cambodia, Vietnam and India, the thrust for MACPI has been increasing in India and Bangladesh. The country has been ranked No. 1 for the IMA market indicating increased adoption of cutting solutions in the industry.
