[tab title=”Second Strength”]
Bonded fabrics are a source of inspiration for this spring. Along with imparting the fabric with strength, it increases its functionality too. It facilitates fabrics that are transparent or too delicate, like net that is merged with voile to make it wearable. These can be worked with from both sides and give an aesthetically appealing look.

[tab title=”Mossy”]
Moving away from the smooth surfaces, these give a much textured look, resembling chunky weaves and knits. Integrating a gamut of colour options, different elements are brought together to bring versatility to the final fabric. The weave plays with the warp and weft techniques and adjusts sequins and other 3D structures in-between. [/tab]
[tab title=”Openwork”]
Openwork is always a welcome sight for the summer, as intricate and decorative patterns take centre stage. With an obvious use of different kinds of net, mesh and crochet was the influx of laser cut patterns, schiffli embroidery and loose plain weaves with surface ornamentations. The construction of this fabric is such that it looks ornamental and the value addition is intrinsic.[/tab]
[tab title=”Wrinkled”]
Embracing a natural and raw factor, were the crushed, fabrics. While some were genuinely incorporated with a crumpled surface, there were a few interesting ones that only appeared to be wrinkled through dyeing and print techniques. Popular fabrics in this category included seersucker, denim and lightweight chambray. [/tab]
[tab title=”Raised up”]
Experimentation with different techniques was at play to achieve raised surfaces. The structure seemed to be changing from the inside and outside with complications being tackled with to increase the visual appeal. Quilting, flocking, heat set fabrics gave way to brasso, dive knits and placement embroidery with lace. [/tab]
[tab title=”Stretchy”]
Comfort is the key trend this season with flexibility being top priority. The focus has shifted to an active lifestyle where fabrics do not restrict, but assist in achieving their goal through ample stretch being present in twill, denim, mercerized cotton and polyester, lycra blends and lightweight knits. [tab title=”Sheerness”]
The reign of transparency only becomes stronger this season with several fabrics being merged together to create diaphanous options where sheer and opaque both can be found. Embroidery on organza along with lurex on brasso were popular, along with heat set brasso, schiffli on cutwork, georgettes and open knits.
