
Arvind Ltd’s Ankur Textiles expands into cotton alternatives with new fabric collection
Ankur Textiles, the lifestyle division of Arvind Limited, has announced launch of multi-fibre fabrics as a fashionable alternative to cotton. Available in an array of colours, prints, and textures, the fabric will be used in manufacturing both- western as well as ethnic wear.
These newly launched fabrics have been named Glam, Glory, Zoya, Blossom, Charm-me, and Lilac and will be retailed through multi-brand women’s textile outlets across India. The synthetic cotton alternatives including viscose, modal, and cotton Lycra blended fabrics will be available at a price range between Rs. 180 to Rs. 300 per metre.
“With the launch of new range of fabrics, we have given a fashionable alternative to cotton,” Ankur Textiles’ CEO, Brijesh Bhati was quoted as saying in a media report. “The newly launched fabric would offer both style with comfort to consumers and we are aiming to continue to launch such kind of fabrics in future as well,” added Bhati.
Ankur Textiles which specialises in voiles is known as India’s largest organised manufacturer of lifestyle voiles- a soft sheer fabric which is majorly used in dress-making and soft furnishings.
According to its website, the company caters to the growing need through a network of around 150 dealers, reaching over 7500 retail outlets throughout India. Swiss voiles, produced by the company, is exported to Switzerland, Sri Lanka and several countries in the Middle East.
