The next stop on the Louis Vuitton pop-up tour is New York City, and it will be all about the men’s collection of the fashion house by Virgil Abloh.
Running from 12 July through 21 July, the 6,000-square-foot pop-up will be staged at 132 Ludlow Street in the Lower East Side, offering the fall 2019 collection.
The pop-up will champion neon green as the monochromatic space, right from interior and exterior to furniture and figures, all will be slammed with the colour.
The assortment offered at the space will comprise flag prints, monogrammed accessories, leather goods, shirts and sweaters featuring NYC-inspired “New Walkers” print, also taking cues from the models that walked the show, along with a re-imagined edition of the LV “Skate” trainer, inspired by vintage skateboarding sneakers.
The locational choice for the pop-up mirrors the grunge downtown feel of the men’s show stage in Paris last January, while also serving the purpose of creating the brand’s presence in the neighbourhood, which was popularised due to the presence of streetwear and sneaker shops such as Reed Space and Alife, among others.
Previously, Louis Vuitton opened pop-ups in Shanghai and London in October, followed by New York City and, in Tokyo in January, with the latter selling 30 per cent more than the Supreme x Louis Vuitton collection in the first 48 hours, as per WWD.
Virgil Abloh has directed two pop-ups before the New York City pop-up, with the Chrome Hearts installation in January, and the recent Chicago pop-up in June being the previous ones.
Ending on 7 July, the Chicago pop-up unveiled the first drop for the fall collection – a capsule assortment of all-orange accessories sold exclusively at the store.
