Europe’s biggest online only fashion retailer, Zalando, has announced the re-instatement of Cristina Stenbeck, who owns the retailer’s major shareholder Kinnevik, as the new chairperson of its supervisory board.
Stenbeck held the position of the chairperson of the Zalando board from 2014 to 2016, following which she was succeeded by Lothar Lanz, who was the finance chief of German media firm Axel Springer before his appointment.
New additions to the board were also announced as the e-retailer stated that the supervisory board had nominated Kelly Bennett, formerly the chief of marketing at Netflix, to join the board. Mariella Roehm-Kottmann, head of corporate accounting at ZF Friedrichshafen will also join Bennett for the venture.
Based out oF Berlin, Zalando is a European e-commerce company that follows a platform approach, while offering fashion and lifestyle products to customers through 17 European markets. Zalando was founded in Germany in 2008. The biggest owner of the retailer is the Swedish company Kinnevik with stake worth 32%.
