The seventh edition of Technotex 2018 kicked off in Mumbai on June 28. The two-day international exhibition and conference on technical textiles being organised by the Ministry of Textiles and FICCI is underway at Bombay Exhibition Centre.
The event, touted as the premier show on technical textiles in India, welcomed more than 200 participants from various parts of the world. Industry stakeholders, as well as major institutional buyers from Army, Navy, Paramilitary forces, Railways, Border Roads Organisations, Hospitals, Construction companies, etc. are also among participants of Technotex 2018.
A total of 10 well-known companies from Taiwan, leaders in technology innovations and manufacturing in the world, producers of innovative technical, functional, performance based and industrial textiles and accessories, are showcasing high-end products in the event. Taiwan Pavilion has been set up by the Taiwan Textile Federation and the Bureau of Foreign Trade for the 6th year.
Technotex India is an appropriate platform for Taiwan to explore business opportunities in India where technical textile industry is likely to reach USD $ 30 billion over the next five years.
In addition to exploring business opportunities in the Indian technical textiles market, Taiwan is also eyeing business opportunities in sectors such as sports apparel, outdoor gear and wear, home textiles, and medical and healthcare sectors.
The 2017 edition of the event was attended by 6,781 business visitors. Indian states- Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh showcased their potential in the sector while delegates from Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Bihar, Rajasthan, and Odisha attended the event. Further, it welcomed 37 speakers who addressed the 350 delegates.
