The 33rd annual bridal expo at Thelma Keller Convention Center has displayed a variety of 2023 trends in bridal gowns. So far, it is safe to say that all-ivory and classy gowns in crepe and satin are back in fashion.
“Instead of a dark underlay beneath the lace, all-over ivory is back,” said the owner of Vayda Jane Bridal in Effingham and host of the fashion show Shelby Hinterscher.
Hinterscher said that for trends for today’s bridesmaids, it’s all about mixed fabrics. The mauve pink and pretty, soft orange are this year’s most popular colours. Some lucky expo-goers received backstage passes in order to see and feel the dresses up close after the show.
Hinterscher further stated that combination fabrics in mauve pink and soft orange are a trend.
The 2023 bridal expo with two bridal fashion shows featured 75 booths and around 1500 people, including 300 brides-to-be who were expected to attend it. Some of the fortunate attendees even got the chance to go backstage and feel the outfits.
“We look forward to bringing everyone together to get the new ideas and trends all under one roof. We hope that everyone can walk away with great ideas to make their dream wedding become a reality,” said Patty Greene, Director of the Convention Center.
