USA’s trouser import has experienced a month-on-month growth of 22.40 per cent in overall value-wise imports during October ’24.
As per recent data released by OTEXA and analysed by Apparel Resources, total worldwide trouser imports by the USA reached US $ 1,670.39 million in October 2024, compared to US $ 1,364.25 million in October 2023.
The import displayed mixed trends from the USA’s key sourcing partners.
India’s performance showed a decline, with October 2024 exports at US $ 30.93 million, down 6.6 per cent on a Y-o-Y basis.
For the Jan-Oct 2024 period, India’s trouser exports to the USA marginally improved to US $ 393 million from US $ 379.41 million in the previous year.
Vietnam – the largest supplier of trousers to the USA – witnessed remarkable growth, with October exports surging by 31.6 per cent to US $ 357.20 million, up from US $ 271.39 million in October 2023. The Jan-Oct period also showed an uptick of 6.95 per cent, reaching US $ 3,236.31 million
The second largest trouser exporter to the USA, Bangladesh witnessed robust growth of 28.1 per cent in October 2024, exporting US $ 276.31 million, compared to US $ 215.70 million in October 2023. However, the Jan-Oct 2024 period saw Bangladesh’s trouser exports to USA dipping slightly to US $ 2,490.54 million from US $ 2,574.30 million earned a year before.
China experienced modest growth of 2.6 per cent, with trouser exports in October rising to US $ 172 million. However, its Jan-Oct export performance declined to US $ 1,773.31 million in 2024 from US $ 1,862.75 million in 2023.
