NILIT, an Israeli nylon 6.6 manufacturer, with manufacturing facilities in seven countries worldwide is set to acquire Invista’s manufacturing site in Americana, Brazil. Expected to finalize by December 2014, this development will be instrumental in leveraging NILIT’s 25 year old local presence. “With a growing number of active customers, we plan to increase our DTY capacity as South America in general and Brazil in particular, both represent a key opportunity for Nilit,” stated Fabio Kahn, MD, Nilit Fibers Division. “Invista Apparel remains very much committed to Brazil, and this transaction will allow us to focus our energy in Brazil on our growing Lycra spandex business,” said Dave Trerotola, President, Invista Apparel & Advanced Textiles.
