
In the first half of 2015, India attracted FDI worth US $ 31 billion, surpassing China and the US. China and US attracted US $ 28 billion and US $ 27 billion respectively. In the first half of 2014, India ranked fifth in terms of capital investment, after China, US, UK, and Mexico, with FDI worth only US $ 2 billion. India recorded the best FDI growth rate with an increase of 47 per cent in the number of projects, when major FDI destinations are posting declines.
