Nine states have so far submitted proposals for setting up PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) parks.
These states are Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Assam, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana.
The State Governments have been asked to send their proposals for the establishment of textile parks under PM MITRA by 15 March.
Confirming this, the Ministry of Textiles said that it is expecting proposals from many other states.
The Centre has planned to invest around Rs. 4,445 crore by 2027-28 to develop seven such parks with world-class infrastructure, including plug-and-play facility.
Darshana Vikram Jardosh, Minister of State for Textiles said that the PM MITRA Park scheme will help bring in investments in the sector on a large scale.
