Notwithstanding larger representation in garment factories, female garment workers get lesser wage than their male counterparts.
This was underlined in a recent report of the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
The report further added the gender pay gap (difference between male and female hourly earnings as a percentage of male earnings) between the male and female garment workers in Bangladesh stand at 22 per cent, while it is as high as 41 per cent for Pakistan.
Comparatively, Cambodia and Myanmar have a very small gender pay gap, while in the case of Indonesia, women, reportedly, earn 5 per cent more than their male counterparts, on an hourly basis.
