An AI-powered platform with a “zero-inventory” strategy for the resale of off-season, end-of-line, and pre-owned fashion items across 55 international markets has been announced by Australian fashion technology startup Azura Fashion Group.
The artificial intelligence model, which is included into Azura’s Transformer Platform, is intended to maximise circular supply chains, minimise waste, and encourage ethical consumerism in the fashion sector.
The objective of Azura’s business strategy is to take direct action against the negative environmental effects of the fashion industry, where each second the equivalent of a “rubbish truckload of clothes is burnt or buried in landfills.”
The platform addresses what it describes as a critical issue faced by brands and marketplaces seeking to embrace sustainability — poor product data. It does this by automating the ingestion and processing of product data, generating enriched product descriptions, and facilitating integration across multiple global marketplaces.
“Our AI model not only addresses the inefficiencies in the supply chain but also empowers brands to embrace circularity, reducing waste and promoting responsible fashion consumption,” said Samuel Wood, CEO of Azura Fashion Group.
