
The exports of Pakistan’s readymade garment (RMG) sector earned US $ 1.2 billion in the first half of the present fiscal year (2018-19).
The above yield indicated a rise of 0.89 per cent over the corresponding period last year.
According to PBS data, during the last fiscal year, the RMG export was worth US $ 1,249,416. It is important to note here that the textile exports went up from US $ 6,641,486 million last year to US $ 6,645,793 million – a nominal increase of 0.06 per cent.
On a year-on-year basis, the RMG exports rose by 3.5 per cent during December 2018 compared to what it was in December 2017.
The RMG exports during the month under review were US $ 238,119 million compared to the exports of US $ 229,877 million.
On a month-on-month basis, Pakistan’s RMG exports increased by 11.86 per cent during the month when compared to the exports of US $ 212,877 million during November 2018.
