Home furnishing company Jawandsons in Ludhiana has doubled its capacity and started manufacturing some new products. Working mainly for Ikea, besides other big buyers, it is one of the known players of Ludhiana in the home furnishing segment, producing a total of 45,000 pieces per day in a mix of all its products. Gian Singh, Director of the company informed Apparel Online that besides making cushions, throws, curtains, and items such as baby bibs and decorative items, they have now also started manufacturing fitted bed sheets, rugs and baskets (made of poly propylene fabric for kids).
“Buyers are interested in such products and we would like to capture their interest. It will also strengthen our supply base, especially during market fluctuations, so having various products will be an additional strength,” reasons Singh. The company has added a few machines for the new product while also using its existing infrastructure. All new products are for Ikea, which will be doubling its sourcing in the next 5 years. Jawandsons is confident of good growth in the coming years as it has increased its capacity, expanded its product range, and is seeing good demand.
