India-based kidswear manufacturer Kitex Garments, which exports its products to the US and the European market, is planning to increase its production capacity from 6 lakh pieces daily to 22 lakh pieces by 2025 which is more than 3.5 times of its current quantity, company’s Chairman and Managing Director Sabu M. Jacob revealed recently.
The kids garment manufacturing company has planned to make an investment of Rs2,000 crore in a phased manner. The company has already announced to invest Rs. 400 crores (Rs. 200 crores each) in its new subsidiary companies.
Kitex is hopeful to achieve 60% to 70% of its target by 2022.
Established in 1992, Kitex Garments is a part of the renowned Anna-Kitex Group of Companies engaged in the production of garments for new-born to babies up to the age of 24 months.
Kitex which has been a major supplier to global brands such as Carters, Gerber, Mothercare, Jockey & Toys“R”Us, reported a revenue of Rs 1,350 crore in the fiscal 2018.
The company is the second-largest producer of children’s apparels in the world and is now in the process of setting up operations in the United States as well. It exports around 95 per cent of its total infant wear to the US while the rest of the products are exported to Europe.
