Many companies, which are established in the Indian domestic market are now expanding their wings to overseas market, irrespective of the negative or positive scenario of the Indian apparel export.
Ghaziabad- based Kalyani Innerwear, offering ladies’ innerwear and lingerie is also increasing its focus on export. For that, the company recently participated in an international sourcing exhibition too, for the first time.
Ketan Gulati, Director of the company told, “Earlier we had words with some Dubai-based buyers and they visited our factory also. We shipped them twice so we have little experience in exports. Now we got in touch with some new buyers from different countries. Some Indian lingerie manufacturing companies are doing good in export. Our products are also of good quality so we can also succeed in export.”
He further added that the company is doing very good in the domestic market and have enough manufacturing capacity so adding export will be another growth area for the company.

The company added panty manufacturing just two years ago and it is making 35,000 pieces daily (25,000 bra and 10,000 panties). The company specializes and focuses on the products which are mainly for the mass market and for daily wear rather than high fashion. It offers a large variety of bras.
“Overseas buyers’ feedback will further strengthen our products and we don’t want to get into price war like China. We are rather focused on quality,” concluded Ketan.
