Expectedly, the impact of the pandemic continues in 2021 as well in the UK!
Wales, which is currently under lockdown, has decided to extend it further to 3 weeks. That would mean all non-essential stores – including that of apparels and fashion accessories – would continue to remain closed at least till the end of January.

The Government has tightened the restrictions as the new COVID strain has started spreading its menace all across the country.
The criticality of the situation could be gauged from what Mark Drakeford, Welsh First Minister announced recently. He said that Level 4 measures need to be reinforced in 3 areas, which includes essential stores as well – quite like what it was in the early days of pandemic.
The Government said showrooms too will have to shut down, and supermarkets also need to ensure that numbers are carefully and consistently controlled.
The Minister also added that the new strain is more contagious and the efforts are on to keep workplaces (for those who cannot work from home) safe – working with employers and trade unions to do so.
Efforts are on, but there’s still some time before the high street retail regains its old charm!
