Japan-based fast-fashion retailer Uniqlo is all set to open its first store in Italy’s Milan next year, in line with the brand’s global expansion spree. The upcoming location will stock LifeWear for men, women and kids across the three levels.
The new store will be spread across 1,500 sq. m. comprising of a basement, ground and first floor. This opening will follow the brand’s successful foray into the Dutch market with its store opening in the Netherlands earlier this year. The apparel retailer is also eyeing to launch a store in Denmark by the next spring.
In a statement issued, Tadashi Yanai, Founder & Chairman, Uniqlo said that the brand is highly honoured and proud to enter Italy next year. “Milan is one of the world’s major and well-respected fashion capitals and we wish that the customers in Milan and global visitors will accept Uniqlo and make it theirs,” Tadashi said.
Notably, this store opening will mark the brand’s 10th market in Europe, as it looks to increase its presence in the region. The brand is already operational in big cities such as Germany, England, France, Spain and others.
Additionally, Uniqlo ended the third quarter with 74 outlets across Europe with the majority of them being in Russia, France and the UK.
