China-based International fast fashion e-tailer Shein’s India division has stepped up during the times of the global Coronavirus pandemic by donating 1 lakh surgical masks to Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital situated in Mumbai.
The announcement, which comes from Facebook, states that Shein has donated 1,00,000 protective masks to a hospital based in Mumbai, India as Indian healthcare workers struggle with a shortage of supply of personal protective equipment or PPE.
“We feel it is important to do our best to protect the healthcare workers on the front lines of the outbreak,” Shein’s Facebook post read, “By supporting each other, we will overcome these difficult times… Please stay safe and stay strong!”
The company also shared photographs of its team delivering the masks to the hospital and announced its plans to continue with the gesture and distribute more masks in the near future.
Shein has actively been engaging its customers by sharing communication on the novel Coronavirus, including myth-busting facts and health and safety tips. The e-commerce giant has revealed its plans to resume delivery of its fashion products post the lockdown is lifted.
