The Row is making a lasting mark in Paris. Founded in 2006 by sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, former American TV child stars, the luxury fashion brand for men and women is set to open its first flagship store in the French capital. The new boutique will be located at the intersection of rue d’Alger (No. 5) and rue du Mont Thabor (No. 1) in the 1st arrondissement, close to the fashionable rue Saint-Honoré, as indicated in the articles of association of The Row France.
While The Row has already established a presence in Paris with its French headquarters in a private mansion on rue des Capucines (1st arrondissement), where it showcased its latest men’s collection last June, this will be the brand’s first permanent retail space in the city. Previously, The Row has hosted pop-up stores in Paris but had not settled on a fixed location.
Currently, The Row operates only four boutiques worldwide: three in the United States (New York, Amagansett in the Hamptons, and Los Angeles) and one in London. The brand also has an online store and a select number of retail partners.
The Olsen sisters, known for their discretion, have built a brand that embodies minimalist design with refined details, aligning with the trend towards quiet luxury. According to a Financial Times article published at the end of 2023, The Row’s fashion business is expected to generate annual sales of between US $ 250 and US $ 300 million, with an annual growth rate of 20 per cent to 30 per cent.
