Known for its budget prices, Primark, having 430 stores globally is expanding in the US. The company will open a 36,000 sq.ft. store at Arundel Mills in Hanover, Maryland, on 7th September and it will be its first location in Maryland.
Another DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia) location is set to open in 2024, at Tyson’s Corner Center in Northern Virginia.
It is worth mentioning here that Primark currently has 21 stores in the US and is looking to reach 60 US stores by 2026. The company plans to further expand into the Southern US, including Texas in the future. So far most of its expansion has been in the Northeast.
The company sees opportunities for growth in all markets and expects to reach 530 stores by the end of 2026.
Employing more than 70,000 employees across 16 countries in Europe and the US, Primark is an international fashion retailer and it is also working to make more sustainable fashion affordable for everyone. As part of this, it has unveiled a series of commitments it is working to achieve by 2030.
Primark also sources apparel from India and its growth is also a good sign for Indian apparel exporters.
