Pangaia has appointed Daniel Gómez as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking the start of a fresh chapter for the materials-science-focused brand following Aurora Vision Group’s acquisition of a controlling stake earlier this year.
Gómez brings extensive experience from Inditex, where he played a key role in launching the group’s e-commerce operations in Russia, and from the Chalhoub Group, where he worked across strategy, brand development and organisational transformation. His appointment comes at a time when Pangaia aims to shift from a hype-driven model towards a more structured fashion business, with defined plans for retail expansion, distribution growth and product diversification.
In a statement, Gómez said he was honoured to join Pangaia as CEO, noting that he had been inspired by the brand’s ambition to show that fashion could evolve beyond consumption to become a platform for innovation, responsibility and cultural influence. He added that he looked forward to building a strong and responsible future with the team, advancing the sustainability conversation and shaping a brand recognised not only for its products but also for the values it upholds.
Melissa Moncada, Founder and CEO of Aurora Vision Group, said the company’s vision was to empower transformative brands that shape a better future through innovation and sustainability. She stated that Aurora was proud to support Gómez’s appointment, expressing confidence that under his leadership Pangaia would continue to set new standards in responsibility, creativity and impact — principles closely aligned with Aurora’s mission.
With Gómez’s global background and Aurora’s long-term commitment to sustainable innovation, Pangaia moves into 2026 poised to reset its business and evolve beyond its origins as a cultural disruptor.
