Marks & Spencer Reliance India has named James Munson as the new Managing Director of the company. His appointment has come after his predecessor Venu Nair is set to leave on April 20. Munson is expected to resume his new role in the company in May. In the new role, he will be responsible to grow Marks & Spencer’s joint venture business in India with Reliance Retail.
India is home to Marks & Spencer’s 57 stores. This is largest number of Marks & Spencer stores outside of the UK. The retailer has also recently collaborated with e-commerce platforms Myntra, AJIO and Amazon to grow its online presence.
Munson, who has over 20 years of retail experience, started his tenure with Marks & Spencer in the UK in 2006. He has held various leadership positions across the business including Store Manager at Camberley and Kingston, two of Marks & Spencer’s largest UK stores.
