Like several other apparel retailers, JCPenney has also announced temporary closure of its stores and business offices, which are scheduled to reopen on 2 April.
The leading American department store has increased the rollout of its curbside pickup efforts so that it can deliver quickly and serve better to its online customers.
JCPenney is one of the US’ largest retailers, with 850 stores across the US and Puerto Rico. The company has office in Noida and Bangalore (India) and sources good quantity of textile products from Indian apparel manufacturers.
Notably, this store closing is going to have negative impact on Indian suppliers also.
More on this, Jill Soltau, CEO of the company, said “With the effects of the outbreak being felt more each day, our primary concern and area of focus is and has been on the health and safety of our associates, our customers and our communities.”
