The premium British retailer, Harrods, has unveiled that their summer sale will be held at a concept store near Shepherd’s Bush. This is the first time for the retailer to expand to other retail locations.
Known for their iconic store in Knightsbridge, the retailer has taken this decision after seeing the piled up merchandise since the lockdown from last 3 months.
The current location for the concept store would be the two floors of Westfield Shopping Centre which spans across 80,000 sq. ft. in order to follow proper social distancing guidelines.
The company earlier announced that their flagship store would reopen on 15 June 2020; however, the store won’t be able to sell all the excess merchandise which has led the retailer to decide on expanding their retail presence.
Michael Ward, Managing Director, Harrods, said that the economy needed businesses to look at their business models and operations while thinking differently to enable growth along with ensuring the safety of employees and customers.
The summer sale is supposed to take place in July.
