
In order to further capitalise on its “strategic investment,” Mike Ashley’s Frasers Group increased its ownership of Boohoo to over 25 per cent. The biggest stakeholder in the internet company, the retail behemoth, raised its stake on from 24.04 per cent to 25.02 per cent.
Since making its initial “strategic investment” in June 2023, the group has been progressively increasing its stake in Boohoo. With a 22 per cent stake, it cemented its position as the retailer’s largest stakeholder in February.
When Frasers Group CEO Michael Murray referred to the company’s investments in Boohoo, Asos, Currys and AO as “mid-flight” towards the end of last year, it sparked takeover rumours. Earlier this month, Frasers increased its investment in Hugo Boss, bringing its total stake to approximately £ 415 million (€ 490 million).
