Charming Charlie, the US-based women’s apparel and accessory maker, is out with its first store since its liquidation in bankruptcy in 2019.
The store was opened in Atlanta late last week.
The American fashion retailer, unlike many other fashion retailers, has not given up on its plan to revive bricks-and-mortar stores despite all the pandemic-induced crises.
Following the launch of the new store, the retailer plans to roll out more stores by the end of the year, which will continue till early 2021.
The second store will open this Friday (2 October) in Towson, Maryland. The retailer, as per the reports, plans to open 25 stores every year.
In these tough times, when every second retailer seems to be down and dusted, Charming Charlie still hasn’t lost its confidence on physical stores – and all this despite the retailer having witnessed two bankruptcies in last 3 years.
While the first bankruptcy in 2017 reduced its store footprint and transferred the ownership to lenders, the second one in 2019 led to liquidation of its retail business.
The company regained control when a real estate firm controlled by the retailer acquired its intellectual property last year for over US $ 1 million.
Charming Charlie, like some other retailers, has got a new life after Chapter 11 and is on the way to rebuild its bricks-and-mortar stores, for which it was once known.
Founded in 2004, more information about the retailer can be found at charmingcharlie.com
