Niran Chana has been named CEO of Adanola, an athletic gear retailer, with the aim of spearheading the company’s global growth.
With effect from June 20, Chana was Gymshark’s Chief Commercial Officer before taking on his new position as CEO. There, he oversaw the trading, retail, marketing, merchandising, and global sales departments. Chana spearheaded the expansion of the women’s sector throughout his time and was a key player in Gymshark’s 2020 contract with General Atlantic, which saw the brand valued at £1 billion.
Hyrum Cook launched Manchester-based Adanola in 2012 and is leaving his position as CEO after nine years. Since then, the business has disclosed a 311% rise in turnover for the 2022–2023 fiscal year. A more “creative role within the business” is what Cook is reorienting to, where he will collaborate with Chana to establish the brand’s global expansion plan and vision.
END, Flannels, Selfridges, and Harrods all currently carry Adanola. In addition to expanding its retail partner portfolio and improving its digital capabilities, the brand plans to further expand into the US in the upcoming year.
Hyrum Cook said, “Niran’s experience and knowledge of the industry will be an asset to the business as we enter a very exciting growth trajectory and, as we set our ambitious goals to have a more significant global presence, Niran will play a key role in improving end-to-end operations for growth and efficient scaling, and the overall company strategy.”
Niran Chana added: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining Adanola this summer. As one of the UK’s most coveted brands, I feel immensely humbled and motivated at the opportunity that lies ahead. Adanola is at the forefront of the consumer sector and their results to date speak for themselves.”
