Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd (ABFRL) has re-designated Sangeeta Tanwani as a Non-Executive Non-Independent Director to ensure continuity in strategic guidance at the Board level following her transition to a new role within the Aditya Birla Group.
Tanwani, currently serving as Whole-time Director and Chief Executive Officer of Pantaloons, will step down from her executive position with effect from the close of business on 31st July 2026. The company’s Board of Directors has approved her re-designation as a Non-Executive Non-Independent Director for a two-year term from 1st August 2026, to31st July 2028, subject to shareholder approval.
Tanwani brings more than three decades of leadership experience spanning the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), retail and pharmaceutical sectors. Since joining ABFRL in 2018, she has played a key role in the strategic transformation of Pantaloons, strengthening the brand’s market positioning and driving the adoption of a capital-light business model.
She also led the company’s expansion into the deep-value fashion segment, overseeing the development of the Style Up brand and its subsequent transformation into OWND!, helping broaden the retailer’s presence in the value-fashion market.
