Odisha has approved two more apparel and textile manufacturing companies to invest in the state’s industrial opportunities. Adishtam Ventures Private Limited will be setting up a garment manufacturing plant in Khurda with a cost of US $ 16.21 million (Rs. 139.02 crore) and an employment potential of 2,400 jobs. Along with this, Anubhav Apparels Pvt. Ltd. will be setting up a readymade garment manufacturing facility in Khurda with a cost of US $ 60.06 million (Rs. 52 crore) and an employment potential of 2,600 jobs.
Anubhav Apparels Pvt Ltd is a Noida-based garment export house established in 2000. The company has a team of 3000+ people with a turnover of US $ 30 million per year and a manufacturing capacity of 9 million pieces annually.
It was also reported by Apparel Resources in March 2024 that six leading apparel companies from Noida and one from Bangalore have been given approval from the Odisha Government to invest a significant amount in Odisha’s apparel and garment cluster, Khurda.
By approving 25 large projects totalling US $ 492 million, the Odisha Government has made a huge step towards improving the state’s industrial growth and job opportunities, with textile and apparel being a key sector among the projects.
At the 133rd State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting, which was presided over by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, IAS, the permissions were given. More than 14,497 job opportunities are anticipated to be created by these initiatives, which cover a range of high-impact industries and support Odisha’s socioeconomic growth.
Across 11 districts, the projects will be implemented with investments in 16 industries, including textile and apparel, bolstering Odisha’s industrial foundation and promoting long-term economic growth.
