The freight specialist arm of Deutsche Post DHL Group, DHL Global Forwarding, with a view to cater successfully to the requirement of the Bangladesh readymade garment sector as it continues to grow in apparel exports, has invested over € 2 million to expand its dedicated Container Freight Station (CFS) space in the country.
This is as per media reports, which underlined that there is a scarcity of CFS in Bangladesh— these facilities help to pick up goods from multiple suppliers, and consolidate them into a single container, subsequent to being shipped to the respective destinations — even as there are reportedly less than 20 CFSs across Bangladesh currently.
Meanwhile, underlining the expansion of the DHL Global Forwarding dedicated CFS facilities will aid the growing demand for Bangladesh’s readymade garments worldwide, Cluster Head Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan, DHL Global Forwarding, Fabian Rybka, maintained that the improved security, storage and sorting processes at these CFS facilities will enable DHL to deliver high service quality to the customers while also ensuring it is in line with the EU/US quality standards.
