Chargeurs, the French textile group, has completed the acquisition of Cilander, a Swiss specialist in high-tech textile finishing. The deal includes the brands Alumo, Brennet, Swiss Ghutra, and Eugster & Huber, which will now be integrated into Chargeurs PCC Fashion Technologies.
The acquisition, initially announced on 30th May, did not disclose the transaction amount. With this purchase, Chargeurs now holds a complete portfolio of finishing technologies, enhancing its global market presence and reinforcing its leadership.
By acquiring Cilander’s industrial capabilities, Chargeurs also gains control of its proprietary brands. Notably, Cilander, based in Lützelflüh (canton of Berne), owns Alumo, a premium woven cotton brand for men’s shirts, and Eugster & Huber, targeting high-end and luxury women’s fashion.
Additionally, Brennet caters to comfortable clothing lines for youthful consumers, and Swiss Ghutra specializes in high-end fabrics and headgear for the Middle Eastern market.
“These additions will inject new dynamics into our CFT PCC division and across our group, enhancing our market share throughout the textile value chain,” stated Michaël Fribourg, CEO of Chargeurs.
This move aligns with Chargeurs’ strategy to acquire new expertise and bolster its global leadership. With 2,300 employees, the company reported a revenue of €653.2 million last year. Chargeurs has recently undertaken a buyback of its shares to consolidate its shareholder structure.
