CBC Fashions Asia, a WRAP, ISO 9001:2000 and Oeko Tex 100 Class I certified organization in Tirupur, is planning to establish its printing unit as it sees the potential demand for these products. The exporter which was earlier exporting to Germany, Italy and UK in Europe and to the US, has stopped its US exports, as its factories are more geared for fast turnarounds and smaller quantities. “The lead times are too long and moreover my production capacity at present is 1 lakh pieces per month while the demand from US is that of 6 lakhs,” says R. Dhanaasekar, Executive Director, CBC Fashions Asia.
CBC Fashions Asia, a partnership firm between R. Dhanasekar and R. Vijayakumar, initiated 25 years back with the name of Chitralaya Banian Company with a capacity of 50 machines. The company entered into the export foray 4 years back and at present has 350 machines. The company’s strength lies in knitted apparels and currently is doing a turnover of Rs. 38 crore. It has its own spinning, garment producing and processing division.
