KG Denim Ltd, an integrated textile manufacturer based in Coimbatore, India, has outlined plans to expand into sportswear and defence product manufacturing as it looks to address challenges in its traditional export business and strengthen domestic operations.
At its 34th Annual General Meeting held on September 29, the company said geopolitical challenges affecting export markets have impacted its traditional denim business.
According to Managing Director B Sriramulu the company is focusing on sportswear and defence products to tap growing domestic demand.
The company is also working with its banking consortium on a financial restructuring plan. The process includes raising fresh capital and selling non-core assets to improve liquidity and support operations.
Shareholders approved the adoption of the company’s FY2026 financial statements and the re-appointment of B Sriramulu as Managing Director for a three-year term beginning November 3, 2026.
The AGM also approved material related-party transactions with Sri Kannapiran Mills Ltd and Trigger Apparels Ltd.
KG Denim said the successful implementation of the restructuring plan, capital infusion and asset sales will be important for stabilising its financial position as it transitions into the new product segments.
